Description
Hey, lovely! Ready to sip cinnamon-kissed dreams and warm your soul? This Vanilla Chai Tea Latte blends spiced black tea, velvety milk, and pure vanilla into a creamy, soothing delight — no lines, no fuss, just pure cozy alchemy at home.
Ingredients
-
2 chai tea bags (look for ones with cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, ginger)
-
1 cup water (filtered if possible)
-
1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy — oat is a fave for creaminess)
-
1–2 tbsp honey (or maple/agave for vegan)
-
½ tsp vanilla extract (real stuff for max coziness)
Equipment
-
Mug (big enough to hug!)
-
Small saucepan
-
Whisk, frother, or mason jar with lid
Instructions
1. Steep the Tea:
Bring water to a gentle boil. Pour 1 cup into your mug, dunk in both chai bags, and steep 5 minutes—no more or it gets bitter!
2. Heat & Froth Milk:
Warm milk on medium heat in a small pan until tiny bubbles form around the edges (don’t boil!). Froth with a whisk, milk frother, or by shaking in a sealed mason jar until foamy.
3. Sweeten & Flavor:
Remove tea bags, gently squeeze them to release every drop of flavor. Stir in honey and vanilla extract. Taste and adjust sweetness.
4. Combine & Serve:
Pour warm milk into the mug, holding back foam with a spoon, then spoon foam on top like a fluffy cloud. Sprinkle a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg for that perfect finishing touch.
Notes
-
Bitter chai? Don’t over-steep or boil milk. Medium heat = magic.
-
Frothing non-dairy? Oat & soy work best. Try a French press for froth!
-
Want a batch? Make a concentrate (4 tea bags + 1 cup water), refrigerate, mix with warm milk later.
-
Spice up mild chai by adding cinnamon or cardamom to the mug before steeping.
