1 lb ground beef
1 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
½ tsp paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
½ cup beef broth or water
¼ cup milk (optional, for creaminess)
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
In a skillet, heat olive oil and cook ground beef until browned (5–7 minutes). Drain excess fat.
Add onion and garlic, cook until soft (3–4 minutes).
Spread beef mixture in dish, layer sliced potatoes on top. Season with salt, pepper, Italian herbs, and paprika.
Top with cheddar and Parmesan. Pour broth (or water) around the edges. Add milk for creaminess if desired.
Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake another 15–20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
✅ Slice potatoes thinly (about ¼-inch thick) for even cooking.
✅ Use lean ground beef (85/15 or 90/10) to reduce excess grease.
✅ Add veggies like carrots or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
✅ Let it rest 5 minutes before serving for easier slicing.
