  • 4 tsp baking powder

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 1 egg

  • 4 tbsp pure maple syrup, divided

  • ½ cup cooked, finely chopped crispy bacon

  • 2 tbsp melted butter (for glaze)


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment.

  • Mix dry ingredients: Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar, and salt.

  • Cut in butter until crumbly (pea-sized bits).

  • Whisk milk, egg, and 2 tbsp maple syrup; chill briefly.

  • Stir wet into dry, fold in bacon gently.

  • Pat dough to 1-inch thickness, cut with floured biscuit cutter (no twisting!).

  • Bake 12–15 mins until golden.

  • Mix remaining 2 tbsp maple syrup + melted butter, brush over hot biscuits.
