Ingredients
For the Chai Scones:

3 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)

1 tbsp chai spice mix (or 2 tsp cinnamon + 1 tsp cardamom + ½ tsp ginger + ¼ tsp cloves)

¾ cup (1½ sticks) cold unsalted butter, cubed

¾ cup cold heavy cream

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Maple Chai Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp chai spice mix

2 tbsp maple syrup
-
2-3 tbsp heavy cream (or milk)

½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Make the Scone Dough

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, chai spice, and salt.

Cut in cold butter using a pastry cutter or fingers until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

In a small bowl, whisk cream, egg, and vanilla. Pour into dry ingredients and stir until just combined (don’t overmix!).
2. Shape & Bake

Turn dough onto a floured surface. Gently pat into a 1-inch thick circle.

Cut into 8 wedges (or use a round cutter for classic scones).

Place on baking sheet, 2 inches apart.

Bake for 18-22 mins until golden. Cool on a wire rack.
3. Make the Glaze & Drizzle

Whisk powdered sugar, chai spice, maple syrup, cream, and vanilla until smooth.

Drizzle over cooled scones. Let set 10 mins before serving.
