Instructions

Activate yeast: Mix milk, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let sit 5–10 mins until foamy.

Make dough: Add flour, salt, and oil. Mix until shaggy, then knead 8–10 mins until smooth and elastic.

First rise: Place in greased bowl, cover, rise 1 hour until doubled.

Shape rolls: Punch down dough. Divide into 12–15 pieces. Flatten, fill with 1–2 tsp cheese, seal, and shape into balls.

Second rise: Place seam-side down on parchment-lined sheet. Cover and rise 30 mins. Preheat oven to 375°F.

Bake: Top with more cheese if desired. Bake 20–25 mins until golden and hollow-sounding when tapped.
