  • Author: Harper Callahan
  • Total Time: 25 minutes

Description

Hey stir-fry champs! Harper here, handing you your next go-to weeknight miracle: savory ground beef, crisp cabbage, sweet carrots, and green onions tossed in a sticky, spicy-sweet sesame sauce — all ready in under 25 minutes with one pan. Goodbye takeout temptation, hello homemade hero!

Ingredients

Scale

Stir Fry Sauce

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for GF)

  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil (the non-negotiable nutty magic!)

  • 1 tbsp sriracha (adjust for spice level)

  • ½ tbsp brown sugar (or honey/maple)

Stir Fry

  • ½ lb lean ground beef (or turkey, chicken, pork, tofu, lentils)

  • ½ head green cabbage, shredded

  • 2 carrots, julienned

  • 3 green onions, sliced (whites & greens separated)

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated

  • ½ tbsp neutral oil (canola, avocado)

  • Pinch of salt & pepper

Optional Garnishes

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

  • Extra sriracha drizzle

Instructions

1️⃣ Mix Sauce: Whisk soy sauce, sesame oil, sriracha, and brown sugar in a small bowl. Set near your stove.

2️⃣ Cook Beef: Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high. Add ground beef, break up, cook 4–5 mins until browned. Drain excess fat if needed. Stir in garlic, ginger, salt & pepper — sauté 1 min until fragrant.

3️⃣ Add Veggies: Toss in cabbage, carrots, and green onion whites. Stir-fry 5–7 mins until veggies soften but stay crisp. Add a splash of water if needed.

4️⃣ Sauce Finale: Pour sauce over everything. Toss well for 1–2 mins until coated & glossy. Kill heat.

5️⃣ Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle with green onion tops, sesame seeds & extra sriracha if you dare! Serve hot in bowls — with fluffy rice, quinoa, or noodles for extra comfort.

Notes

  • Use coleslaw mix for a time-saver.

  • Want extra crunch? Add bell peppers or snap peas.

  • Stir in a splash of rice vinegar or lime for brightness!

  • Add a cornstarch slurry if you want the sauce extra thick & glossy.
